Diep.io is a survival .io game where you control a circle armed with a cannon. The aim is simple: move around the map and destroy the other players whilst improving and upgrading your own circle.

How to Play Diep.io

Shoot to level up

Diep is a simple .io game set in a vast arena. You start as one basic level 1 tank. Upgrades can reach up to level 45, and with every fifteen levels, you get to choose a new tank with special features. Check the bottom left of your screen to see if you are eligible for an update.

Venture around the map, shooting various geometric shapes to level up. It’s best to do this for a while before trying to take on other opponents, as each level-up rewards you with an upgrade point to spend on one of 8 areas to upgrade.

Upgrade your Diep circle

There are eight different stats you can upgrade:

• Health Regen - health recovers faster
• Max Health - increases the maximum health
• Body Damage - increases the damage dealt by clashing with other items on the map
• Bullet Speed - improves the speed of projectiles
• Bullet Penetration - allows bullets to pass through more objects and other bullets before disappearing
• Bullet Damage - grows the damage dealt by each projectile
• Reload - decreases the time between shots
• Movement Speed - increases the tank's speed

Consider your choices carefully, as you only have a limited number of skill points, and these are harder to acquire as you level up.

A player may want to focus on their bullet damage and speed to increase firepower. Alternatively, you could concentrate on health and regeneration to improve your survivability. Players earn more skill points as they do damage and level up.

Try different game modes

The main mode is a free-for-all, where every player is for themselves.

Other game modes are:

• Tag - you will be assigned to one of the two teams, and when a player is killed, they respawn in the opposite team. The winning team will have converted all their opponents into members of their squad.
• Maze - free-for-all with impenetrable walls and small corridors, easier to ambush and be ambushed.
• Sandbox - a private game mode where players can test builds and classes with their friends.
• 2 teams or 4 teams - you will be assigned to one of the teams (Red, Blue, Green, Purple). The bases in the corners of the map offer a safe area to respawn and recover.
• Domination - Dominators is the name of special turrets that teams in this mode fight to capture and control.
